I took this photo for a lighting project for my Photography class. Its a photo of my sister who's actually my triplet. She has an identical twin and I'm fraternal. I wanted to portray this feeling of sort of having another half using split lighting.
To edit it, I used frequency separation to smooth out her skin and soften the somewhat harsh lighting. I lifted the contrast slightly so you can still see both halves of her face and used the Camera Raw filter to adjust colors and sharpen the image and luminance to still keep it soft. I did slight coloring of the highlights and lowlights as well, a bit of blue and magenta respectively. I also cropped the image so the eyes are closer to the top third and to have a long image that leads your eye up and down it without too much distraction.
